Gordon Bay Provincial Park is quite remote – actually quite a long drive from the main highway. The weather here is not too warm, it has been cold and drizzly. There is not much to do here – except perhaps go canoeing in the lake but with the cooler weather it’s not exactly something we like to do.
Today we drove along the Pacific Marine Route to Port Renfrew to visit Botanical Beach around the Juan de Fuca area. The road was narrow with single-lane bridges and windy with a couple hairpin turns – fortunately the kids and I did not experience any motion sickness. We timed our trip to catch the lowest tide so that we can explore the tidal pools. The kids had a great time exploring.

Botanical Beach

Shelter along the beach.
We are cutting short our stay here by a couple of days – we are heading to Englishman Falls tomorrow morning.
